In addition to the varied shops in the village, Freeport also offers several parks and naturalist areas for easy hikes along trails, of which some follow the coastline of Casco Bay. South Freeport is a typical small fishing and pleasure boating harbor found along the Maine coast. Fresh Maine seafood is offered at Harraseeket Lunch on the dock. Boat excursions operate daily in the summer out of South Freeport.
