About The Owners

The owners of Wolf Neck Bed & Breakfast, Dianne and Steve, have lived in Maine, mostly Freeport, all of their lives. They have personally explored almost every nook and cranny in Maine, whether it be hiking, backpacking, bicycling, golfing, boating, camping and just the usual sightseeing. If we haven't been there, we've probably at least heard of it and have some level of knowledge. We can share tips on what we think are some of Maine's best attractions, depending on the guests' interests. Many of those destinations are either nearby or an easy day trip from Freeport.

In 1991, we had the opportunity to buy a primitive cottage on what is now the site of Wolf Neck Bed & Breakfast. We always knew we wanted to build our dream home on the coast in Freeport. After retirement from the public and corporate work worlds, we had more time and energy to design and go forward with having our home built on Wolf Neck. Construction began in 2001 and June 2002 was 'move in' time at last! We have about 2 acres with 250' along the coastal tidal Harraseeket River. Improvement of the grounds  will be a work in progress as long as we hang our hats here! The many compliments we receive from guests give us much encouragement.

In 2004, after being retired 5 years, Dianne decided she wasn't ready to rock on the porch with her favorite book or a crossword puzzle, and watch the tide come and go all the time, as relaxing as that really is. Always interested in meeting people 'from away' and hearing of their life experiences, as well as offering people a glimpse into our world, Wolf Neck Bed & Breakfast was born. May's Memorial Weekend in 2005 marked the beginning of our first season. It went down in the books as a very successful, enjoyable and rewarding experience.

And so, we are hoping to meet many more interesting people 'from away' over the next few years.
